The Kolleg St. Benedikt, a residence for students, was founded by the Austrian congregation of the Order of St. Benedict and built in 1926. It is the student’ home of the German-speaking Benedictines in Salzburg, with single rooms for 70 students. It is open to students from all nations who desire to study in Salzburg.

Le collège Saint-Benoît de Salzbourg fut fondé en 1926. Il s’agit d’une maison d’études pour bénédictins (capacité maximale : 70 chambres), sous la responsabilité de la congrégation bénédictine autrichienne.

Mittelpunkt unseres gemeinsamen Lebens ist die Eucharistiefeier zusammen mit dem Chorgebet. An Sonntagen und hohen Festen feiern wir Vesper und Hl. Messe mit den Mönchen der Erzabtei St. Peter.

The centre of our common life is The Holy Eucharist and The Divine Office. On Sundays and Solemnities we participate in the services of The Archabbey of St. Peter.

La célébration de l ‘Eucharistie et la récitation de l’office choral représentent les pôles de notre vie commune. Dimanches et jours de fête, vêpres et messe sont célébrées avec la communauté des moines de l ‘abbaye Saint-Pierre.

Die Kollegsgemeinschaft besteht zur Zeit aus dem Rektor P. Paulus Koci OSB (Ettal), Ordensleuten und Laien aus verschiedenen Ländern. Bei uns wohnen auch Gaststudenten aus östlichen Kirchen. Die Sisters  of Sacred Sciences (Indien) versorgen den Haushalt und die Küche.

Currently, the community of Kolleg St. Benedikt consists of The Rector, Father Paulus Koci OSB (Ettal, Germany) and regulars, both choir-monks and laymen. In addition there are students from eastern churches studying language courses in Salzburg or studying theology at The University. The Sisters of Sacred Sciences (India) manage the household and the kitchen.

Sous la direction d’un recteur, actuellement le Père Paulus Koci OSB (moine bénédictin d'Ettal, Bavière), la communauté du collège se compose de religieux et de quelques laïcs, ainsi que des étudiants de l’Eglise orientale. Les réligieuses "Sisters of Sacred Sciences" (d'Inde) assurent l’entretien de la maison ainsi que la cuisine.

Die Katholisch-Theologische Fakultät befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe des Kollegs (5min zu Fuß). Sie verleiht die staatlichen Doktor- und Magistergrade in Theologie und Philosophie, die auch kirchenrechtliche Anerkennung des Apostolischen Stuhles genießen. Darüber hinaus können die päpstlichen Grade der Philosophie erworben werden.

The Faculty for Catholic Theology is located just five minutes walk from the Kolleg. The degrees of Master and Doctor in Theology and Philosophy are recognized by both State and Church (as well as The Apostolic See). Furthermore, it is possible to obtain the Papal degree in Philosophy.

La faculté catholique de théologie se trouve à proximité du collège (5 minutes à pied). Elle délivre aussi bien les grades académiques d’Etat en théologie et philosophie que ceux d’un institut pontifical pour ce qui concerne la philosophie.

Die Universität umfasst ferner eine geisteswissenschaftliche, eine juridische und eine naturwissenschaftliche Fakultät. Einige der Kollegianer absolvieren auch andere Studienrichtungen neben der Theologie. Außerdem ist die Stadt Sitz der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst „Mozarteum“ und einer privaten Universität für Medizin.

The University includes faculties of Law, Arts, Human Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Some of our students complete their studies not only in theology, but also in other fields such as language studies (courses in German). Salzburg has also the University Mozarteum for Music and Drama and the private University for Medicine.

L’université de Salzbourg compte également en son sein d’autres facultés : droit, sciences naturelles, lettres et sciences humaines, sans oublier le conservatoire Mozarteum et un institut privé de médecine.

Salzburg, die Hauptstadt des gleichnamigen Bundeslandes, liegt in 425m Seehöhe fast in der Mitte Österreichs und zählt knapp 145.000 Einwohner. Sie ist umgeben von drei bewaldeten Bergen und wird vom Fluss Salzach durchzogen. Diese Umgebung und das liebevoll bewahrte barocke Stadtbild verleihen ihr einen ganz eigenen Reiz. Auf den Hauptstrecken der Bahn bzw. über das Autobahnnetz ist Salzburg leicht erreichbar.

Salzburg is the capital of the province of Salzburg and is located almost in the centre of Austria on the main rail and motor routes. It is situated some 425m. above sea-level and has a population of some 145,000. The marvellous surroundings are characterized by mountains and woods and the River Salzach runs right through the city. The character of Salzburg is dominated by its fine baroque architecture and delicate wrought-iron work.

La ville de Salzbourg, capitale du Land portant le même nom, traversée par le fleuve Salzach, est située à 425 au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Elle compte 145.000 habitants. Un environnement montagneux et le visage baroque de la ville lui confèrent un charme particulier. Voie ferrée et autoroute en assurent un accès aisé.

Das Kolleg bietet Unterkunft mit Vollpension (3 Mahlzeiten täglich) inkl. Bettwäsche zu einem Preis von derzeit € 1.875 im Semester an. Für andere Bewohner besteht in begründeten Fällen auch die Möglichkeit zu Halbpension um € 1.380 (Frühstück und 7 fixe Mahlzeiten pro Woche nach Wahl).

Kolleg St. Benedikt offers full-board (three meals daily) including bed linen for Euros 1,875 per semester (half-year term) or half-board for Euros 1,380 (breakfast and 7 meals per week).

Das Studienjahr beginnt am 1. Oktober und endet am 30. Juni. Anmeldungen für das Wintersemester werden bis Anfang Juni, für das Sommersemester bis Mitte Jänner erbeten. Die Anreise erfolgt Ende September bzw. Ende Februar, die Abreise Anfang Februar bzw. Anfang Juli; ein Aufenthalt in den Semesterferien im Februar und im Juli bedarf einer Vereinbarung mit dem P. Rektor.

The Winter Term starts on 1st October and ends on 31st January and the Summer Term starts on 1st March and ends on 30th June. Reservations for the Winter Term (October-January) should be made by the beginning of June and reservations for the Summer should be made by the middle of January. For the Winter Term students arrive at the end of September and leave again for holidays at the beginning of February and Summer Term students arrive at the end of February and leave for holidays at the beginning of July. It is also possible to stay during February and July by prior arrangement with The Rector.

L’année universitaire commence le 1er octobre et se termine le 30 juin. Il est possible de s’inscrire pour le semestre d’hiver (octobre-janvier) jusqu’en début juin ; pour le semestre d’été (mars-juin) jusqu’à la mi-janvier. Un séjour prolongé durant la période des vacances est à négocier avec le recteur du collège.
